Saint-Georges Church and the Square Tower
Description
The first church was demolished at the end of the 18th century, and a new one built against the "Sur Nâves" hill to create a new square in the center of town.
As the existing bell tower (still in excellent condition) was to be preserved, the new church had to be built separately from the bell tower. This achievement (1855-1858) makes Saint-Jeoire the only church in our department to have preserved and enhanced all the features of this Lombard Neo-Gothic style, both inside and out.
